Murano, Burano and Torcello: Planning an Island Visit

Choose what you want to explore
Murano is associated with glassmaking, Burano with colourful houses and craft traditions, and Torcello with lagoon history. Start with your interests rather than choosing a transfer simply to tick off three names. A glassmaking demonstration, a museum and a walk are separate activities: check which welcome visitors and which require an arrangement or admission ticket. Experiences do not all include the same access.
One or two islands may be enough
Work out your actual available time, including travel to the departure point and back to your accommodation. If visiting a museum, taking a leisurely lunch or travelling with children, a shorter selection may suit you better. Add Torcello only when connections and your schedule leave room. Avoid booking a timed central-Venice visit immediately after a return journey involving several connections.
Check connections before setting out
Use official AVM/ACTV information for routes, tickets and service notices. Check your departure stop, direction, changes and useful return options for your date. Sailing conditions can alter the plan, so retain an alternative and recheck close to departure. Transport tickets and admission to individual sights are different items; airport connections may also use different ticket offers.
